The sixth annual Georgia Tech People and Technology Forum will give technology enthusiasts and entrepreneurs plenty to talk about when it arrives at Georgia Tech’s Global Learning Center on Nov. 11-12.
The Forum, which serves as the annual industry partners meeting and research showcase for Georgia Tech’s Institute for People and Technology, will examine how emerging technologies will shape the future of our society. Anchoring the event is an impressive lineup of guest speakers, including:
- Kwanza Hall, District 2 Councilman, City of Atlanta
- Jia Chen, Director of Health Solutions for Smarter Cities, IBM
- Bill Stead, Associate Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs and Chief Strategy Officer, Vanderbilt University Medical Center
- Jeff Leddy, CEO, Verizon Telematics
Throughout the two-day event, themed “Connected Life,” attendees will have ample opportunities to engage with local business leaders, researchers and entrepreneurs in meaningful discussions about the future of cities, personalized healthcare, smart cars, and live, work and play communities. A series of panel discussions and research demonstrations round out this year’s program.
Attendees will also meet the more than 100 students, staff and faculty participating in this year’s Convergence Innovation Competition, a contest for students “to design, build, and deploy applications for the Georgia Tech community” held throughout the Fall and Spring semesters. Winners of the Fall competition will be announced on Tuesday evening of the Forum, and highlights from the Spring contestants will be highlighted as well.
More than 2,000 people have participated in the People and Technology Forum since its debut in 2009. It is organized by Georgia Tech’s Institute for People and Technology, which “integrates academic and applied research through living laboratories and multidisciplinary projects to deliver real-world, revolutionary solutions that balance the needs of people with the possibilities of new technologies” by connecting industry, government and nonprofit leaders with Georgia Tech researchers.

But verse 9 says, “Then the LORD put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the LORD said to me: ‘Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.'” There was no doubt in Jeremiah’s mind the prophecy that he recorded was not his own. He recorded the words that God had put in his mouth. Nearly 100 times he wrote that “the word of the Lord” (or a similar expression) had come to him. These words appear many times in Ezekiel as well.In the year 2003, Carmen Electra married Dave Navarro who is famous for being a member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers rock band Jane’s Addiction.
